DONALDSON, IN – The Chargers (2-4-2) defeated Lakeland Community College 2-1 in overtime.

Coach Gallagher happily commented, “It has been a while since the ball has bounced our way and most importantly we kept our poise throughout the match.  When we stay focused on our strengths in possession and organized defending I feel we can compete with anyone.”

Alex Rosowicz (Cortland, OH) solid play in the net yielded three saves on the day.  The Charger offense got off to a quick start when Nakilee Weni (Indianapolis, IN) broke through the Lakeland backline and eventually finished a rebound shot.  Lakeland tied the match with a goal in the 82nd minute.  Manny Awuku (Hornchurch, UK) did not waste time notching the game winner three minutes into the first overtime period.

Gallagher added, “I really like our group of guys and although there have been some disappointing results we just continue to train at a high level each day and push forward playing a quality style of soccer that will benefit us down the road!”

The Chargers travel this weekend to Ohio featuring matchups with Cincinnati State and Owens Community College.
