07/23/12 American Legion Post 27 beat Kokomo Post 6 8-0 in the Championship Game Sunday afternoon at Bill Nixon Field behind a great pitching performance by Wally Dickman (Laporte).  It was the third meeting in two days between the two teams.   Plymouth won Saturday’s game 11-4.   Lost Game 1 to the Sox 7-4 early Sunday afternoon.

Plymouth finally got some offense mustered against Kokomo’s Conner Milligan in the Championship Game when they scored 4 runs in the second inning after one out.  Sean Knepper (Bremen), Brock Anson (Warsaw), Wally Dickman and Tanner Andrews (Tippy Valley) all had RBI singles in that inning.   Kokomo’s Milligan was done after that inning.

Plymouth went on to score four more runs in the ballgame off reliever Drew Hansen.

Meanwhile, Wally Dickman pitched superbly.   He finished going the distance (9 innings) in the 5 hit shutout.  He struck out 4 batters, allowing 3 walks in the victory.  Dickman improves to 3-0 on the season.

  The 22-12 Plymouth Diamond Spyders will host the Regionals at Bill Nixon Field this weekend.   Plymouth will not play until 7:30pm Friday night against Mishawaka Post  161.
