WESTVILLE, INDIANA – Westville High School graduate Bianka Mendoza recently signed her Letter of Intent to play softball for Ancilla College in the 2012-2013 season.

Mendoza, a catcher/first baseman, earned three varsity letters with the Blackhawks and will be pursuing her degree in Elementary Education while at Ancilla.

“Ancilla is a small school,” began Mendoza. “It reminds me of Westville. Everything was perfect.”

Westville coach Gary Dick mentioned, “Bianka is a great kid to work with. She learns quick and works hard.”

“Bianka is fully committed to her game,” echoed Westville coach Jim Swanson. “She has the desire to always be and do better and is one of the most coachable players I’ve ever had.”

Ancilla coach Scott Reese also expressed his excitement with Mendoza’s decision to join the Chargers. “Bianka not only impressed me with her abilities on the field and her willingness to give everything she has on every play, but with her excitement for everything that she is involved in. She will be a great addition to our team. I am excited that Bianka has decided to become part of the Ancilla softball family.”
