KOKOMO, IN – Kokomo High School guard Arienne Beard has signed her letter of intent to play for the Ancilla College women’s basketball program starting in the fall of 2012.
“Ancilla is a good opportunity for me to play ball at the college level and continue my education,” said Beard. “I’m excited and ready to work hard.”
Beard, a 5’2” point guard, has been a starter for the Lady Kats the past two seasons and has led the team in minutes per game. She also led the team in assists during her senior season.
“Arienne is a great fit for our program,” said Ancilla basketball coach Stephanie Beason. “She’s very patient with the ball and can handle the heat in pressure situations. She’s also very solid defensively and as a point guard likes to push the ball. I expect good things from her over the next two seasons.”
