PLYMOUTH, INDIANA – Plymouth High School senior Marissa Sullivan recently signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play softball for Ancilla College in the 2012-2013 season.

Sullivan, a pitcher and corner infielder, is finishing her fourth year on varsity for the Pilgrims this season, as well as being a member of the Annihilators and Intensity travel programs. She is a three-time All-Northern Lakes Conference performer and also competed in the East/West All-Star game last summer. Sullivan was named MVP and had the best batting average for the Pilgrims last season.

“Marissa is a great player who will help take the program at Ancilla to the next level,” said Plymouth coach Ed Kelso. “It will be fun watching her move on and grow both as a player and student. We wish her nothing but the best.”

When asked what made Ancilla the right choice for her, Sullivan mentioned the positive environment and good people that she interacted with around campus and well as the opportunity to continue her softball career.

“This is an exciting day,” started Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “I think this is a fantastic fit for both Marissa and Ancilla. The opportunity to stay close to home plus continue her education while playing softball was helpful for both of us. Marissa is a terrific young lady who will be a big part of the future here at Ancilla. I am very pleased that she has decided to join the Ancilla softball family.”

Marissa is the daughter of Jeri and Todd Sullivan of Plymouth.
