JACKSON, MI –The Ancilla College golf team competed in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association’s golf championship earlier this week with Nate Wolf earning a spot in the Region XII Regional finals next week in Battle Creek, MI.

Wolf shot a 94-86-87 in three rounds of play for a 265 score. That was good enough for him to earn a spot in the regionals which begin on May 14th at Bedford Valley golf course in Battle Creek.  Ancilla’s Ben Gilbert and Jaron Coleman also competed in the golf championship but did not make the cut.

Ancilla golf coach Marc Hayden said, “Qualifying for Region XII Golf Championships is quite and honor for Nate”  “He stuck with it despite some hardships and made the cut which is great. I wish he would have had a teammate or two join him but it wasn’t meant to be this season.   Ben improved a ton from the first of the season until now. Jaron was steady all year and represented Ancilla well.  Hayden added, “Adam hurt his back early in his first round and was unable to compete which is unfortunate for him.  These four young men were great to be around and I will miss them all next year.”

The top two team scores and top five individuals in next week’s regional play qualify for the National Junior College Athletic Association National Finals to be held at Swan Lake May 21-26.  Ancilla College is the host team
