Gerry Gawain Funk, 64 passed away peacefully, Wednesday March 28, 2012, from cancer. Gerry was born January 2, 1948 to Gawain Marion Funk and Evelyn Pearl Miller Funk in Plymouth Indiana. Gerry married Dixie Gray June 29, 1968 in Washington D.C. Gerry served in the United States Navy.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

He worked at DDO and finished his government career at HAFB, where he retired Nov. 30, 2011. He enjoyed playing golf with the DDO Golf League, watching the Colts play football and college basketball; especially March Madness. He also enjoyed camping, traveling and playing with his grandchildren.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Dixie and two sons, Craig (Amanda) Funk of Ogden and Jason (Tammy) Funk of Salt Lake City; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Abigail Rose. He is also survived by his siblings, Neysa (Liz) McFarland, Terry (Sissy) Funk and his in-laws, Clarence and Selma Gray.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gawain and Evelyn Funk.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd., Ogden Utah; officiated by Pastor Mark Christ. A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and prior to services at the church from 11:45a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rocky Mtn. Hospice or Huntsman Cancer Center.
