01/16/12 The Union-North United School Board held a reorganization meeting on January 12 when they elected new officers for 2012. By unanimous vote of 5-0, Mike Berger was named president, David Grenert, vice-president and Dennis Graf, secretary.

Mark Dickson was appointed as the legislative liaison and delegate for the Fall ISBA Conference. Rob Swathwood was named alternate.

Each board member will receive a salary of $2,000 per year.

Also by unanimous vote Debra Rubesha was appointed as Treasurer and Pam Jones, Deputy Treasurer for the Corporation for the year 2012. Bonds for both were set at $50,000.

The law firm of Barnes & Thornburg , LLP will remain as the legal representation firm for 2012.

Meetings will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month and the 4th Thursday as needed. Meetings are held in the LaVille Jr.-Sr. High School Media Center at 7:00 p.m.

During the Board of Finance meeting, Berger was named president and Graf, secretary.

Approval was given to Debra Rubesha, Corporation Treasurer and Josie Snell, Elementary Treasurer to dispose of old outstanding checks that remain unpaid for over two years. The funds will be receipted back into the funds upon which the checks were drawn.

The entire 2011 investment reports show that the Corporation made $390.70 in interest from a checking account.

An agenda item under Personnel labeled as a Discussion Item: Bus Route Alteration was tabled until a further time. Making the motion to amend the agenda to table the item was Grenert. He said, “We’re just not ready for that one yet.” The motion passed 5-0.
