08/22/11 During last Monday’s board meeting, the Argos School Board gave their approval to the 2011 Safe Haven Grant.  The $3,853 grant has a 50/50 match.   The Argos school system has been employing the bully prevention lessons from Safe Haven for seven years.  The Safe Haven program trains and empowers the school’s staff (teachers, custodian, bus drivers, kitchen help etc) on signs of bullying and what to say to the bully and the victim.

The School Board also approved the request for DC Tech to provide free wireless internet service during this year’s soccer season.  DC Tech asked that a sign and PA announcements be made informing those attending who is providing the internet service.  This will be appreciated this year since Argos will be the site for the Girls Soccer Semi-State.
