Plymouth Fire Department Responded to 157 Calls in November

12/28/11 The Plymouth Fire Department had another busy month according to the November Activity Report.  Fire Chief Andy Metsker recently presented his monthly report to the Board of Public Works and Safety.

EMS responded to a total of 157 alarm situations last month.  There were a total of 124 Emergency Medical Service (EMS) incidents and 12 medical assists.  4 times they were cancelled en route, 2 calls involved a chemical release, reaction, or a toxic issue and 2 times in November they responded to natural vegetation fires and 2 false alarms.  Other calls last month included 1 vehicle fire, 1 combustible or flammable spill or leak, one person in distress, and 1 public service assistance.

Fire alarm situations included 4 structure fires, 2 unintentional system operations and 1 system malfunction.

When looking at the November incidents by districts you’ll find that of the 157 calls 111 were in Plymouth, 1 in Polk Township, 13 in Center Township, and 23 in West Township.  Paramedic assists were one each for Argos, Culver, Walkerton, LaPaz and Starke County.
