The Bourbon community is joining forces to help with medical bills for one of their own. On Saturday, June 3rd a 5K run/walk will be held at Potawatomi Wildlife Park near Tippecanoe for Rhett Blackford.
This is a celebratory 5K for Rhett who was born at 25 and a half weeks and only weighed 2 pounds and 2 ounces. He due date was June 3rd. He is the son of Todd and Cheyenne Blackford. Rhett has been at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indy since he was one week old and has gone through several surgeries already.
Registration for the 5K will be $22.00 which represents Rhett’s birth weight. The race will start at 6:30 p.m. on June 3rd at Potawatomi Wildlife Park and participants need to register by Friday, May 22 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.
