Plymouth Fire DepartmentThe 2014 yearly report of activity for the Plymouth Fire Department showed a total of 2,173 alarm situations between fire and EMS.

EMS responded to 1,684 medical incidents and did 126 medical assists.

Plymouth fire was dispatched to a total of 27 structure fires last year, 7 smoke or odor problems, 8 outside rubbish fires, 14 natural vegetation fires and 11 vehicle fires.   Other calls for 2014 were 7 special outside fires, 9 chemical releases, 15 combustible spills or leaks, 7 electrical wiring problems and 4 Hazmat investigations.

Plymouth fire was dispatched and cancelled en route 111 times, responded to 50 false alarms, was sent to 24 good intent calls and 8 public service assistance calls.  There were 10 system malfunction calls, 23 unintentional system operations and 3 wrong locations.

Looking at incidents by district there were 1,483 calls in Plymouth, West Township had 275, Center Township 257 and 14 in LaPaz.  Argos and Polk Township each had 6 incidents while Culver had 5 last year and Bourbon had 3 and Bremen 1.

Paramedic Assist calls are on the rise and the annual report shows Plymouth paramedics assisted Walkerton 43 times with Culver seeking assistance 23 times and Starke County needing their expertise 21 times.  Other paramedic assists were 19 for LaPaz and 17 for Argos.
