MugShot_Mandi KoboldOn Thursday, January 8th at approximately 11:00 A.M. the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a report from the McDonald’s in LaPaz of a male and female attempting to purchase food with a counterfeit $20.00 bill.

Officer Les McFarland with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the restaurant and completed a report pertaining to the complaint.  Officer McFarland located 35 year old Mandi Kobold and 31 year old Derek Anthony McQueary in Gatewood Trailer Park in LaPaz. During the investigation Kobold was arrested for counterfeiting and was transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Officer McFarland obtained a search warrant for the vehicle involved. Upon executing the search warrant on the suspect’s vehicle Officer Joseph Giordano and Officer McFarland located an active meth lab. A case report was completed concerning the counterfeiting and active meth lab and was forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s office for review.

Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman reviewed the case and formal charges have been filed in the Marshall County Superior Court I against Mandi Kobold for dealing in methamphetamine, possession of chemical reagents or precursors with the intent to manufacture, counterfeiting, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana with a bond set at $50,000.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department  is currently attempting to locate 31 year old Derek Anthony McQueary for the investigation. If you have any information pertaining to the location of Mr. McQueary please contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department or Officer McFarland.
