M.C. Jail 8-9-12_distantMarshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin released his December Jail Activity Report this week and listed the top ten offences for bookings into the jail.

Starting at 10 and working your way up you will find Public Intoxication at the bottom of the list with Marijuana and then Driving While Suspended.  Domestic Battery is 7th on the list with Probation Violation at number 6 and Operator Never Licensed 5th.  Theft was the 4th most common offense while Dealing in Cocaine or Meth was 3rd and Failure to Appear 2nd.  The number one reason people were booked into the Marshall County Jail in December was Operating While Intoxicated.

There were a total of 114 bookings into the jail by the various departments with 33 being females, 75 males and the remaining 6 were court ordered.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Officers handled 73 accident reports in December with 66 being property damage and 7 involving personal injury.   There were a total of 58 case reports taken and 97 citations written last month.
