PLYMOUTH – The Marshall County Council approved several additional appropriations for the Argos School Corporation in their regular meeting on Monday night.

Argos was seeking to gain approval for additional appropriations from their Rainy Day Fund of $17,000 for stipends, $99,000 for health insurance and $24,000 for utilities while stating they would reduce the same amounts in in the same line items from their General Fund which would essentially balance their budget for the current year. Even with the appropriations their remains an ample amount of funds in the Rainy Day Fund. The General Fund budget just approved by the Council for the coming year is a balanced budget. The Council approved the appropriations unanimously.

Since the Argos school board is an appointed board, their additional must be approved by the County Council.

The Council also approved of $10,000 for Superior Court I’s Pauper Counsel line item and an  appropriation request of $175,000 from the County Highway Department from the Cum Bridge fund line item to be put towards the 7th Road construction.
