WWII_EdPoulanStudents at the Weidner School of Inquiry at Plymouth High School had the opportunity to learn first-hand the history of World War II with a project completed this term. Now everyone will have to chance to found out what the kids learned as they present their WWII Veterans Project at the Marshall County Museum.

WWII_KenKunzeThis was a project created in collaboration between the museum and the new tech school. Facilitators at WSOI had hoped to have about a dozen veterans step up to be interviewed since their ages are 87 and up. Instead that number rose to 46 separate interviews.

WWII_ArtWoolingtonStudents were captivated by the dozens of interviews they conducted with local veterans from WWII. Along with talking with male and female veterans, some of the women who held down the home front were also interviewed.

WWII_ladyThe Marshall County Museum will hold an open house for the new living history exhibit “Recording the American Perspective.” The community is invited to come meet and greet and celebrate with local veterans as they witness first-hand the premier of the video exhibit on Wednesday, October 15th from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Marshall County Museum, 123 North Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth. Many of the students involved in the project will also attend the Open House.
