Crash_US6_Sage_1Marshall County Police Officers investigate a couple of accidents this weekend. On Friday evening just after 10 Officer Ryan Hollopeter was dispatched to US 6 and Sage Road for a single vehicle crash.
Crash_US6_Sage_232 year old Aimee Swanson of Walkerton told Officer Hollopeter she was traveling west on US 6 near the intersection with Sage Road and her 2001 Dodge Stratus suddenly turned to the right and her steering became disabled. The vehicle came to rest in a body of water.
No injuries were reported and Lyons Wrecker assisted with the vehicle at the scene.
Crash_SR17_PioneerEarly Saturday morning about 3:15 Officer Hollopeter responded to State Road 17 and Pioneer Drive for a single vehicle crash.
Crash_SR17_pioneer_221 year old Dylan Wilhoyt of Gilman, IL told Officer Hollopeter he did not see the stop sign and was not familiar with the T intersection. The 2002 Ford Focus collided with a guard rail on the south side of State Road 17. After the collision the car traveled down a deep ditch embankment.
There were four occupants in the vehicle and each one sustained minor injuries. Wilhoyt had minor bleeding to his head and tested .06 on the PBT and .86 on the certified test while 16 year old Jason Schaub of Culver had minor bleeding to the leg, 15 year old Bryce Howard of Culver had no visible injuries and 16 year old Justin Schaub of Culver complained of pain to his entire body.
