DONALDSON – Ancilla College Nursing department announced that Elizabeth Bailey has earned the designation Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) after meeting strict eligibility criteria and successfully completing a rigorous certification examination developed and administered by the National League for Nursing.
Elizabeth Bailey has been a Registered Nurse since 2002 with a background in medical/surgical nursing, renal dialysis and obstetrics/pediatrics. She has worked in nursing education since 2008 and achieved her Master’s in Nursing Education from Indiana Wesleyan in 2013. Her academic activities include the Higher Learning Commission committee, nursing curriculum committee and nursing and health sciences member. Her special interest includes trans-cultural nursing and she has participated in medical missions trips to Ecuador in 2012 and Haiti in 2014.
“The NLN’s Academic Nurse Educator Certification program has conferred new visibility and stature upon the academic nursing community that is long overdue,” said Dr. Beverly Malone, CEO of the NLN. “Through the certification program, we have made clear to the ranks of higher education that the role of nurse educator is an advanced professional practice discipline with a defined practice setting and demonstrable standards of excellence.”
