05/02/14  On Tuesday, April 29th at 7:57 A.M. Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman conducted a traffic stop at Lake Avenue and Third Street on 25 year old Sonja R. Butcher of Plymouth.   During the investigation it was found that Butcher was driving while suspended with a prior.   She was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a $755 bond.  Butcher was released after posting bond and received a May 27th Superior Court II date.

Later Tuesday morning at 11:07 A.M. Officer Workman conducted a traffic stop at Jefferson and Michigan Street on 52 year old Jill L. McCarty of Plymouth.  During the traffic stop it was found that McCarty was operating a vehicle and had never received a license. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $255 bond.  McCarty was released the next day after posting bond and received an May 27th Superior Court II date.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
