12/07/12 Starting with the new year, Ancilla College and Holy Cross College are launching a new articulation and transfer agreement that provides seamless transfer from Associate’s to Bachelor’s degree programs at the schools.
Even students graduating this month are included in the new agreement and may apply all credits earned at Ancilla toward any major offered at Holy Cross.
Students enrolling in the program must be admitted to both institutions with a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale), or transfer to Ancilla with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students who successfully complete at least 24 credit hours a year and graduate from Ancilla can immediately transfer to Holy Cross College. Transfer students can take advantage of Holy Cross academic advising before transferring. An important aspect of the new agreement includes Ancilla student athletes who can choose to continue participating in sports on Holy Cross athletic teams.
A key aspect of the new partnership between the two Indiana-based Roman Catholic colleges is a tuition ‘lock.’ Students transferring to Holy Cross after graduation can lock in the Holy Cross tuition rate that is in effect during the term they begin at Ancilla.
Dr. Ron May, Ancilla College president, signed the agreement between the schools Thursday with Brother John R. Paige, Holy Cross College president. Both colleges are working to expand educational opportunities across north central Indiana for a diverse mix of traditional students, adult learners, people interested in second careers, veterans and their families.
Ancilla College was founded in Donaldson in 1937. Holy Cross was founded in 1966 as an associate’s degree institution and began offering four-year degrees in 2003.
Ancilla already has credit or degree articulation agreements with other colleges including Saint Mary’s College, Western Governors University-Indiana, Bethel College, Trine University, Grace College, Purdue University North Central and the University of St. Francis. While some of these agreements offer students tuition discounts and transfer scholarships, the agreement with Holy Cross is the first that allows students to lock in a tuition rate for a four-year degree when starting at Ancilla.
