09/17/12 On Wednesday, September 12th at 4:33 PM Patrolman Matt Brown with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to 7th and Pine Roads in reference to an accident.  Arriving at the scene the officer learned that the driver of a 2004 Cub Cabet Lawn Mower, 77 year old George Maes was mowing his yard near the roadway and he had turned into the road to turn around and did not see 56 year old Karen King of Knox driving a 2006 Nissan Murano traveling west bound. King struck the lawn mower causing minor damage to both vehicles but had advised that she had seen Mr. Maes mowing near the road.  Ms. King was able to slow down prior to getting to the mowing location, however she was unable to stop once he turned into the roadway.

On Thursday, September 13th at 6:56 AM Patrolman Brown responded to State Road 331 and Hill Trail Road on a one vehicle accident. Upon arriving on the scene, 28 year old Naomi F. Allen of Bourbon, the driver of a 94 Honda Accord advised she was traveling west on State Road 331 east of Hill Trail Road when she took her eyes off the roadway for a moment.   When she looked back up she swerved to miss hitting a mailbox and lost control of her vehicle and rolled her vehicle at least two times prior to coming to a rest on the north side of State Road 331.
