06/18/12 Plymouth Police are currently investigating a shooting that happened in the Martin’s Supermarket parking lot sometime early Friday morning.  It has been determined that it was a self-inflicted gunshot.

   Investigator Ted Brown said police were called to Martin’s at 9:36 a.m. when a customer was concerned about a female that appeared to be sleeping in her vehicle in the parking lot.  A check was conducted and it was obvious that the woman had been injured.

Late Friday night Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger released the name of the woman who committed suicide in the parking lot of Martin’s Supermarket on East Jefferson Street in Plymouth early Friday morning.

50 year old Kathleen Nichols of Lakeville, New York died of a self inflicted bullet wound while in her vehicle in the Martin’s parking lot. Positive identification was obtained through New York authorities and family members.

Investigator Ted Brown of the Plymouth Police Department along with the Coroner are continuing their investigation as to the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further information is available at this time. Plymouth Police along with Plymouth EMS assisted at the scene.
