04/18/12  Plymouth Mayor, Mark Senter honored the recent passing of his secretary’s mother, Marsha Banning by sponsoring a blood drive with the South Bend Medical Foundation.

  The blood drive was held in the Multi-purpose room at Plymouth High School on Monday from noon till 6 p.m.  There were able to collect 46 units of blood, 40 regular donors and 3 double red-cell donors.  A total of 51 people signed in to give but 8 were deferred for various reasons.

  Laura Mann, the Mayor’s secretary said, “We saved 138 lives with the blood donations received on Monday.”  She also commented that the Mayor will sponsor a couple more blood drives this summer during the Plymouth Farmers’ Marketon May 26th, July 21th and September 15th from 8 a.m. to noon each day .

The blood collected with the South Bend Medical Foundation at the drive will stay in this area and be given to citizens who need a transfusion.
