01/16/12 Air Force Tech. Sgt. Samuel G. Bakian has returned to Joint Base Charleston after serving in Southwest Asia and Persian Gulf region in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners. Active duty and reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe.
Bakian is a chaplain assistant assigned to the 628 Air Base Wing at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. The technical sergeant has served in the military for 10 years.
He is the son of Lloyd Bakian of Redwood Road, Plymouth.
Bakian received a bachelor of science in 2006 from Johnson and Wales University, Norfolk, Va. He also earned a bachelor of science in 2010 from Strayer University, Newport News, Va.
