12/21/11 Argos National Honor Society has sponsored once again Turkey Teacher Week. During this week students purchased feathers for their class sponsors. Feathers could be bought for $.25 or removed from a teacher’s turkey for $.50. All proceeds raised will be donated to the homeless shelter inSouth Bendwhen the group goes to serve and work there this winter. The group came up with a goal of $100 and exceeded that goal by raising $224.65.
To encourage the student body and faculty to get involved, Mr. Nick Medich, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, agreed to where a turkey costume during the lunch times. And an incentive that was!! Almost 900 feathers were purchased in a week’s time. The winning teacher, Mrs. Ginger Calhoun, sported a turkey hat all day in honor of being crowned Turkey Teacher 2011.
The members of NHS thank all for their participation and willingness to make this a fun and profitable event.
