/10/11 After a summer of transition, The Marshall County Neighborhood Center is pleased to announce the hire of Sara Hill as its new Executive Director. Hill joined MCNC in April 2010 as a Case Manager and was responsible for building a program that advocates for families in need. Case management is new and exciting territory for the Center, as it provides added resources, referrals, and guidance to those experiencing hardships.
Upon Sarah Hendrix’s resignation this spring, Hill maintained day-to-day operations and case management duties, while the Board searched for a new leader. After a 3-month recruitment process, it was apparent that Hill’s passion, commitment, and capabilities were well-matched to the requirements of an Executive Director.
The community can expect The Neighborhood Center to continue with its basic needs services for residents of Marshall County. Food and Clothing Pantry hours will remain the same, and Hill will maintain her strong role in developing a variety of projects and programs that address rural poverty.
“I’m delighted to build upon The Neighborhood Center’s positive growth,” says Hill. “Our primary focus is to provide food, but we will also take steps to promote nutritional education and community awareness among the people we serve. As always, I look forward to working with local agencies and organizations to see that our families have access to quality services and pathways to life-changing opportunities.”
