Visit Indiana Day is Thursday August 8 at the Indiana State Fair. You can find Visit Indiana along with statewide destinations, mascots and prizes on State Fair Blvd. between Indiana Arts Blvd. and West Pavilion. Mascots Freddy Fever, Boomer, Rowdie and Ace will be on hand throughout the day to entertain families. Visitors will also find basketball games, fishing and other interactive games to enjoy.

“This is an excellent opportunity to learn about destinations across Indiana,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch.” From great agritourism spots to sporting events and venues, there’s something for everyone to explore.”

Visitors can also sign up for Visit Indiana’s two free passport programs. The Indiana State Culinary Trails Passport features 21 food trails across the state from the Indiana Foodways Alliance. There are three bonus check-ins during the fair at the Indiana Pork Producers locations; one in front of the swine barn, one located in front of the cattle barn and one near Pioneer Village.

Visitors can also qualify for a seasonal sweepstakes, with the winner receiving a Blue Gate friends getaway package featuring:

  • Dinner for four at the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana
  • Four tickets to any Blue Gate Musical at the Blue Gate Theatre
  • Carriage/Buggy Rides for four
  • One Suite-Level Room or two basic rooms at the Blue Gate Garden Inn
Visitors can also sign up for the Indiana State Nature Passport, featuring 59 outdoor locations to explore in the Hoosier State. There is a bonus check-in at DNR’s Natural Resources Building, located in the northwest area of the fairgrounds. Visitors who sign up for the passport on Visit Indiana Day will be eligible to win a $50 State Parks pass and a $50 DNR gift card.

“The free digital passports help people discover new places around the state as well as in our own backyards,” said Elaine Bedel, Secretary and CEO of the Indiana Destination Development Corporation. “Use both passports to find new places to enjoy with family and friends.”

The fair runs from July 30 to Aug. 22, excluding Mondays and Tuesdays.
