winter weatherMarshall County EMA Director, Clyde Avery released the latest update from the National Weather Service in North Webster regarding the Winter Storm potential for Monday into Tuesday.

NO ADVISORIES, WATCHES or WARNINGS have been issued for Marshall County at this time.  A wintry mix of snow and freezing rain, sleet will impact the area south of U.S. 6.  ICE accumulation of up to 0.1 inch is possible, with 1-3 inches of snow possible as well.  Areas north of U.S.6 will be receiving mostly snow, with accumulations of between 3-5 inches possible.

Drivers will find slick and hazardous driving conditions.  Some minor ice accumulation on trees and power lines is possible.  Sidewalks will be snow and ice covered, and could increase the number of slips, trips, and falls.

Local businesses and schools should review their emergency plans and implement them as needed.  If you must go out, give yourself extra time to teach your destination.  Reduce your speed and increase your following distance.
