On Saturday, October 24th around 1:25 A.M. Deputy Ayala with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the 100 block of US 31 and 11th Road for a speeding violation.
The driver of the vehicle identified as Rodney Allen Stuart of Cassopolis was found to be Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC.15% or Higher. Mr. Stuart was also found to be in Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Synthetic Drug.
Stuart was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held on a $1,505 bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
