Snow accumulation 2-12-20_1The National Weather Service is advising of the potential for accumulating snow beginning Wednesday afternoon into the early morning hours on Thursday morning.  Snow totals of between 3-5 inches are possible for our area, with additional snow on Thursday.  Colder air will arrive Thursday night into Friday with below zero wind chills Friday morning.

Currently, No Advisory Watches, or Warnings have been issued.

Roads will be snow covered, slick, and hazardous for the overnight hours on Wednesday and into early Thursday morning.  This could potentially lead to an increase in slide-offs and traffic accidents.  Sub-zero wind chills on Friday, could cause frostbite to exposed skin.

Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery urges drivers to slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.  Increase your following distance. Drive defensively and be aware of the increased potential for hazardous road conditions due to icy conditions and snow.

Limit time outside on Friday and if you must be outside, dress in layers and cover all exposed skin.
