Police_PursuitOn Wednesday, January 29th at approximately 6:30 P.M. Officer Dulin with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of Section Drive and Sycamore Bend in Delong on a Silver 2007’ Pontiac. The Driver of the vehicle identified as 39 year old Timothy A. Stevens Jr of Kewanna.  Stevens failed to pull over and led officers on a pursuit into the area of 20B and Queen Roads crossing into Marshall County. During the pursuit the suspect’s vehicle crashed yet was able to continue. Two male subjects eventually fled from the vehicle with one being detained immediately, identified as 29 year old Phillip A. Robbins II of Rochester.  Stevens fled from the scene on foot into a wooded area.  Two females stayed with the vehicle and were detained and eventually released by police. At one point during the foot pursuit a K-9 and thermal -imaging camera were requested for additional assistance. At approximately 8:43 P.M. officers located and took into custody Mr. Stevens. Both Stevens and Robbins was transported to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department where they were held on No Bond on preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement.  Stevens, the driver was wanted on a warrant for Theft. Fulton County Police were assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Culver Police and the Argos Police Department.   Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
