06/13/11 The Marshall County Neighborhood Center announced this week that they have accepted the resignation of the Executive Director, Sarah Hendrix, after being with the center for two years. During the last two years, the center has been able to dignify the food pantry experience creating a self-serve grocery; collaborate with local agencies, churches, and community members in serving over 500 families for the Christmas Coalition. They have also created and sustained a case management program at the Center to help bridge clients out of poverty. The Neighborhood Center will continue to operate during its normal hours of operation, with Food & Clothing Pantry open at it usual times: Monday’s 1-3 PM; Wednesday’s 5-7 PM; and Friday’s 9-11 AM. Sarah Hill, MCNC Case Manager, will continue to work with current clients in the case management program as well as oversee the day-to-day operations during this transition period. Currently, the MCNC Board is re-evaluating the role of the position for Executive Director and will start its search. Among many other factors, the board will be seeking additional partnerships with other agencies and organizations within all of Marshall County to expand their services.
