City NEwsPlymouth City Engineer, Rick Gaul presented a request to work in the city’s right-of-way from Comcast during Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

Two weeks ago board members were notified that Comcast has a subcontractor install infrastructure to Super 8 at 2160 North Oak Drive without receiving a permit from the city.  At the August 13th meeting the board decided to implement a fine of up to $2,500 daily for the violation.

Gaul said the fine was started on August 13th and the city sent notice to Comcast on the 14th.  The City Engineer received a call from Comcast on the 15th of August and on the 21 drawings for the project were receive and the revised drawings were received by the city on August 22nd.

On Monday evening Gaul said the application to work in the right-of-way was complete and Comcast would have to put up a $5,000 financial guarantee for work.

The Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved the request but no decision was made on the violation fine.
