The Plymouth Lions Club held their annual picnic for all members and their families at Christo’s Banquet Center.  This year the Lions Club was honored to award two scholarships to qualified high school students and one was present with his family, and the other was out of state on a planned trip but her parents were able to attend.  This year’s winners were Anna Bockman and Alejandro Cortes.  The Lions Club also contributes to the Kizer Award for the outstanding male and female athlete.

In other business, the Plymouth Lions Club voted to donate $150 to Christopher Fishburn of Troop #251 for his Eagle Scout Project.  Chris is a junior at Argos High School and has chosen for his service project to construct a walking path through the wooded area at Miller’s Assisted Living. He believes the path will give residents an area to enjoy nature, get some fresh air, and also provide exercise by walking the trail.

Upcoming fundraising projects were discussed.  The Lions Club will be cooking pancakes and sausage again on Saturday, July 22 at the Farmer’s Market in River Park Square. In addition it was announced that the slate of officers for the upcoming year will be sworn in at the July regular meeting of the Club.
