Fire_Polk_4B&Tamerack_1A fire Friday morning totally destroyed a barn and its contents on 4B Road just east of Tamerack.

Fire_Polk_4B&Tamerack_2The Polk Township Fire Department got the call of a structure fire about 7:30.   Chief Joe Clady said the barn was totally engulfed when they arrived on the scene.  He immediately sought assistance from LaPaz, Plymouth, Walkerton, Koontz Lake and the North Liberty Fire Departments.

Fire_Polk_4b&Tamerack_3The 40 by 60 barn was burnt to the ground and Chief Clady said, “The cause will probably be labeled undetermined because there was so much damage.”

Fire_Polk_4B&Tamerack_4Homeowner Terry Miller, who was not at home at the time of the fire said he believe the cause of the fire was probably electrical.


Fire_Polk_4b&Tamerack_5Fire crews were on the scene for several hours making sure to put all the hot spots out.
