City NEwsPlymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt will purchase a new skid-steer loader using the National Joint Power Alliance (NJPA) program.

Monday night he told members of the Board of Public Works and Safety the city is already a member of the NJPA having made a purchase through them in 2013.  Marquardt explained that bids and quotes are available on all types of products from a complete list of all major suppliers. He said “The prices have been negotiated and the paperwork is already complete saving time and money.”

Marquardt said this way to purchase is new to the city but not to other governmental agencies in Indiana.  In the last two years over 16 million purchases have been made by Indiana units of government through the NJPA.

In other business the Plymouth Street Superintendent was allowed to seek quotes for a new dump-truck.   He will replace a 1990 F Series truck with funds he has in this year’s budget
