CrashInvestigation_2Wednesday morning about 7:10 Officer from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident involving a John Glenn School Bus and another vehicle.

Officer Neal Wallace investigated the crash that involved 18 year old Mason Hatfield and Heather Rauen.

Rauen was driving a 2014 John Glenn School Bus and was stopping on Queen Road north of US 30 getting ready to pick up a student with the amber lights flashing.  As she was about to activate the stop arm to board a student the bus was struck from behind by Hatfield who was driving a 2004 Ford F150.

Hatfield told Officer Wallace he tried to stop but the roadway was slick and he slid into the rear of the bus.

There were 15 children on the bus at the time of the crash but there were no injuries reported.  Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
