ljh_treeDan Tyree, Superintendent of the Plymouth Community School Corporation informed WTCA this week of plans to remove a stately tree at Lincoln Junior High.

The extremely large tree with very low branches that sits at the corner of Liberty and Gibson Streets will be cut down in the near future.

Tyree said they’ve been working with arborist Steve Listenberger to and save the tree that’s been struggling but he recently contact the corporation office say that there was “a lot of dead in it” and it wasn’t safe.

Superintendent Tyree said, “That was the best climbing tree in town.  When we were late picking up our daughter from school she’d wait for us climbing in the tree.”

Understanding the community’s concern, Tyree wanted to give the public prior notice that the tree will be removed and the one sitting next to it will be cut down too.
