The annual Plymouth High School “Christmas Spectacular” show presented by the music department will open this Friday and Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets are available at the door at 6:00 p.m. with the auditorium opening at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seating. Ticket prices for all seats are only $5.00.

The event will feature every ensemble in the music department as well as combined musical selections displaying the talents of all students in the music programs. Instrumental performances will be presented by the Jazz Combo and Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. Vocal performances will include the Chorale, Counterpoint, Men’s Choir, and Crimson Connection.

The theater department has also been highly involved in creating a stage full of wonderful Christmas decorations and lighting. “This is my favorite production the music department presents every year. It is the one time you get to see a truly combined effort featuring all of the talents of our music students and the efforts of our theater crews. Everyone has been working for many weeks to prepare a great show,” said band director Bryan Ames. “We hope you are able to join us for one of the productions this weekend.”

Traditionally, the music department will also have a free will donation at the end of the concert with all benefits going to the Plymouth High School Dance Marathon for Riley’s Children’s Hospital. The music department has helped raise hundreds of dollars annually for this cause.
