local News_2The Marshall County Drainage Board and Commissioners meet this morning beginning at 8:30 in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.

The Drainage Board will open bids for the Porter Ditch, Isaac Sells Ditch and A. Overmyer Tile.  A public hearing is scheduled for 8:45 on the William Morris Ditch in Polk Township and Art Woolington is scheduled for 9 a .m. to discuss the York Drain.

Other agenda items include the continued discussion of the ditch bank on the Peter Sarber Ditch in Polk Township and a petition to remove an obstruction on the mutual drain to the Kline Ditch in Union Township.

Surveyor Larry Fisher will present a change order for the Frank Woods Tile and under miscellaneous business is the Yellow River maintenance with Saint Joseph County.

The Marshall County Commissioners are scheduled to meet at 9:30.  Their agenda includes the attorney report and highway report along with Sheriff Matt Hassel’s request to purchase vehicles and an agreement with Intercom Communications.

The maintenance department will make a request to purchase a printer and the Auditor will present the minutes and mid-month claims.  Under Commissioner Items it Return to Work Police and an update on the Community Resource Center project to move the Health Department from the County Building to the CRC.
