On Thursday March 10, Patrolman Jonathan Bryant from the Marshall County Police Department conducted a traffic stop on an SUV at Pak A Sak on Jefferson Street in Plymouth. During the stop it was discovered that the vehicle had a false and fictitious registration and was being operated without insurance. The driver of the vehicle, 51 year old Warren Coffin of Knox was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended license also. Further investigating revealed Mr. Coffin possessed a Legend Drug. He was subsequently arrested for the offense.
A passenger in the vehicle, 28 year old Buddy Blankenship of North Judson was found to have an active protective order against him by a female passenger in the vehicle. He was then taken into custody for Invasion of Privacy.
Both men were transported to the Marshall County Jail. Mr. Blankenship is being held on a $1500.00 cash bond and Mr. Coffin has a $3000.00 cash bond.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
