48-year-old Thomas Levendowski was arrested on Wednesday and faces charges of forgery and false informing.

On November 17, the Plymouth Police Department received a report about a $500 counterfeit traveler’s check that had been cashed by Levendowski.

Further investigation revealed that nine more counterfeit checks in the amount of $500 had been presented at the First Federal Savings Bank in Mishawaka.

Cash was not given to Levendowski after bank personnel determined the checks were counterfeit.

Levendowski claimed that he received the traveler’s checks from the sale of merchandise.

He later admitted that he had given officers false information.

An arrest warrant was issued in St. Joseph County on multiple counts of forgery.

He was booked into the Marshall County Jail and is being held for St. Joseph County.
