The Marshall County Solid Waste Board of Directors met Monday morning for their first meeting of the new year. The board voted to retain the same officers with Duane Culp and Jon VanVactor serving a president and vice-president. The board also approved a resolution for the 2016 salaries with the executive director being paid $2,281.88 bi-weekly and the hazardous material handlers making $21.13 hourly.
Marianne Peters, Director told the board the bailer has been repaired and routine maintenance has been completed on it. She also gave them an updated on the Grateful Shred event held on Saturday, December 5th. Thirty-three residents brought in 14,580 pounds of confidential documents to be shred. They also had an additional 16 customers that day. Peters noted the bad weather probable had an effect on the turnout.
