Bremen_police_black and whiteBremen Police Chief Matt Hassel release the department’s Activity Report for August 28th through September 3rd.    Bremen officers issued a total of 79 traffic warnings and 23 traffic citations.

Bremen officers responded to eight property damage crashes during the reporting period.  On August 28th there was a accident in the parking lot at Bremen Community Hospital while on the 29th there was a crash in front of 224 West Plymouth Street.  August 31st had a crash on US 6 and one in the parking lot of Community Family Physicians at 1724 West Plymouth Street.  Other accidents include an incident at the east junction of US 6 and State Road 106 on September 1st, an accident in front of 201 North Center Street on September 2nd and on September 3rd a crash in front of 103 North Center Street and one at the intersection of South and Jackson Streets.

Officers from the Bremen Police Department made a total of 6 arrests from August 28th through September 3rd.  On the 2nd of September officer arrested Michael Carpenter of Bremen for Rape, Strangulation and Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Child.  Christopher Monday of Bremen was also arrested on the 2nd for theft as was Elijah S. Pack of South Bend for Operating While Intoxicated on a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and a warrant from Elkhart County and St. Joseph County.

Three arrests were made on September 3rd.  Timothy A. Hunsberger of Wakarusa was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, Operating under a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana. Abigail L. Pifer of Angola was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a Warrant through Kosciusko County while Rachel A. Delinsky of Kendallville was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation.  Every defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
