Miller's_musical recitalPiano and vocal students of Marlena Whitworth presented a music recital at Miller’s Assisted Living Community on Tuesday evening, May 26th.  Five music students plus several members of Whitworth’s Faith Baptist Church Congregation shared their musical talents during the recital.  Whitworth’s music students are from the Warsaw Open Bible Baptist Church where she travels once a week to provide lessons for the young people.

Whitworth accompanied her three children Cherith, Wesley, and Victoria as they sang “Redeemed”.  They came back to the stage several times during the recital and sang “Amazing Grace” and “In The Cross”.  Assistant Sunday school teacher Kandi Dunham and student Claire Wilson joined with the Whitworth family to sing a Bible verse song “Psalm 1:1-3”.

Music students who participated in the recital were on piano:  Hannah Page, “The Harp Song”; Josh Reihl, “Wonderful Story of Love”; Beth Page, “Blessed Assurance”; Jeremiah Page, “Onward Christian Soldiers”; and Amanda Hassle, “It Is Well With My Soul” and “In Christ Along”.  Hassle is also studying voice and sang “Moon River” and “The Way You Look Tonight”.

The recital ended with the students passing out treat bags to the Miller’s residents in attendance and leaving bags for those who were unable to attend.  The residents of Miller’s enjoy visitors who come and share their talents.  Music students, drama clubs, speech club members, dancers, karate students, etc. who are interested in putting on a recital or demonstration or performing should call 574-936-9801 and ask for Cindy Flagg.  She is willing to work with your schedule.
