The City of Plymouth will conduct its regular meetings tonight at 6 and 6:30 in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

The Board of Public Works and Safety is the first meeting, and the agenda includes bid openings for the Water Improvement Projects and the 2024 Street Paving Projects.  Members will also hear from city department heads, consider an addendum to the School Resource Officer agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding between Brightspeed and the City of Plymouth.

Under Requests, the Board of Public Works and Safety will consider a request to close Michigan Street also known as State Road 17 for two blocks for the Downtown Plymouth Block Party on Thursday, June 20th.  The rest of the agenda includes approval of claims and the acceptance of communications.

The Common Council meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 and members will consider on second the third reading an ordinance amendment for the fee schedule for the Aviation Department.

Under New Business the council will consider the recommendation of the Plan Commissioners to modify the official zoning map for an 8-acre parcel off Bayless Street behind Webster School for a multi-family residential building project.  The Plymouth Commission’s favorable recommendation was a 6-4 vote last week following a 2-hour public hearing.  If the council passes the rezoning request, they will be asked to consider the annexation for those same 8-acres.

The clerk-treasurer will ask the City Council to accept donations for the Mayor’s Summer of Music and the annual Tractor Show. The City Council also had two resolutions to consider, a fiscal plan for providing municipal services of a capital and non-capital nature in support of annexation.  The second is a resolution to approve the application of Harman Restaurants, Inc. for a Commercial Revitalization Rebate Program Grant.

Under the section Other Business, the City Council has listed a public hearing on the annexation petition of property adjacent to Bayless Street. The city meetings are open to the public and available to watch online using Teams on the city’s website.
