Plymouth’s Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson discussed three items with the Board of Public Works and Safety Tuesday evening.

Davidson said the city will begin their watermain flushing on Monday, June 3rd.  The flushing process is done in phases with the main water lines from the plants being the first.  From their city employees will work on the other distribution arms.  Davidson said if someone experiences discolored water or low pressure, they should turn on the COLD water and let it run for 5 to 10 minutes to clear the lines.  If a problem still exists, then customers should call the office at 574-936-2543 and an investigation will be conducted.

Superintendent Davidson reminded Board of Public Works and Safety members that the pre-bid process for the water projects will be conducted on Thursday.  The first portion of the bids will be for the water main improvement and the second will be the water tower renovations.  Davidson said bids will be opened at the next city meeting on June 10th

The final project the utility superintendent discussed was the city’s lead service line inventory.  They are 99% complete on the customer side and the city side.  Currently the utility department is in the process of one final internal review prior to submission before October 16th.
