A Fort Wayne man was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on Sunday, May 26th after being stopped for a registration violation. 

Sunday evening at approximately 7:15, an officer with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on U.S. 30 east of Pioneer Drive for a registration violation. 

The driver was identified as Xavier Washington, 24 of Ft. Wayne.

The officer found that Washington had a suspended-prior license status.  He was taken into custody for driving while suspended-prior and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
