Bruce A. Tinkey, 63, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in his home in Plymouth.

Bruce was born to Dennis and Norma (Tribbey) Tinkey on August 28, 1960 in South Bend, IN. He graduated from John Glenn High School in 1978 and then Valparaiso University in 1982, where he was a member of the Valparaiso baseball team as a catcher.

Bruce worked as an accountant C.P.A., and controller at Hoosier Tire, and other various businesses. He was a lifetime member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, and hunting until neuropathy of his legs took over. He was an avid collector of memorabilia and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame.  Not only did he enjoy sports, but he also enjoyed treating his great-nieces and nephews to a night at the movie theater, or even Broadway play productions.

Bruce will be missed by his sisters: Sharon (Dennis) Ingles of South Bend, IN; Cathy (Paul) Davis of Oro Valley, AZ; his brothers: Mike (Cathy) Ameling of Socorro, NM; and Tracy Tinkey of Mooresville, IN; and Jeff (Kandi) Tinkey of Plymouth, IN; his 20 nieces and nephews; his 26 great-nieces and great-nephews; and his 3 great-great-nieces.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Norma Tinkey; Janice Ameling; and Dennise Alsobrooks.

Cremation has been chosen and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
