On Tuesday, April 16th, at 7:03 P.M., officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle personal injury accident on 6th Road east of Pine Road.

Arriving on the scene, Officer Nick Laffoon found a white Ford F150 that had been involved in a collision and came to rest in a ditch. During the investigation, probable cause was found that the driver of the vehicle, Alan Lopez Cruz, 20 of Queen Road north of Plymouth, had operated a vehicle without a license.

Alan Cruz was placed into custody and later transported to the Marshall County Jail for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license. Alan Curz’s cash bond was paid at 10:10 on Tuesday, April 16th and he was released on bond.  He was issued a court date in Marshall Superior III for May 14th, 2024 at 8:30 am.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
